Addressing the HR Needs of Senior Living Facilities
While CHAMPS provides administration services to a variety of healthcare and non-healthcare clients, our background gives us a unique understanding and empathy for the financial situation senior living facilities are now experiencing.
The budget plan outlined by Governor Kasich’s administration necessitates major changes to funding for Ohio skilled nursing facilities, cutting almost $400 million over a two-year period*. And as of Jan. 1, 2012, the state’s bed-hold reimbursement for senior living facilities also changed; providers with less than 95 percent occupancy in the previous calendar year will now receive 18 percent of their Medicaid rate as opposed to 50 percent*.
With these decreases in reimbursement, it’s understandable that long-term care facilities need to apply prudence in their decisions to hire additional staff or outsource certain tasks. If you are an HR professional at a long-term care facility and know you need assistance but just can’t justify the cost, contact CHAMPS and we can work with you to develop a customized plan that just may fit your limited budget.
